I bought some Wild Salmon from Walmart and smoked it tonight. It was great. I didn't brine it , just put olive oil and BBQ rub and let it stand in ref. for 2 hours and then smoked it with 2 oz of hickory for 1 and a half hours on 215 degrees ,until it reached 150 degrees. Just wanted to let someone know how good it was.

I too have smoked a couple of those from Walmart. I have always briened that overnight, and although I have washed them several times, I find them on the salty side. Next time I find them in Walmart, I will try the olive oil and rub. Thanks for the info.
