I used to work in Miami, FL and had many-a-meal at Shorty's BBQ in Kendall. I wonder if anyone has ever gotten close to duplicating their smoky chicken BBQ sauce??? I would appreciate any replies!

I have stopped at Shorty's original a couple of times ,but haven't seen anything on his sauce.

You might try the Miami Herald and search their food section.

There will be some cooks from that area,, at Clermont today, and I'll try to remember to ask.

Mornin',Rick.

I talked to a team that used to be paramedics in Kendall.

Their feeling was that Shorty's basically used canned ketchup, garlic powder and a little vinegar and water.
