I went into a BBQ joint today to buy dinner for my family. 2 adults and 2 7 year old girls. No drinks as it was takeout.

As I contemplate opening my own place, I was wondering if anybody can give me a ballpark figure on a similar check in your area.

My check was $39.43.

We had:

1. A BBQ sampler ( enough food for 2 ... had 2 SMALL sides.... mac an cheese and beans.
2. 1/2 rack of spares
3. A side sweet potato... serves about 3 or 4
4. A side potato salad

Let me guess.

Sooooo......30-32 bucks.

at my restaurant half pound bbq pork plate with 2 four oz sides and hushpuppies $5.40 each plus tax would total 23.06
