Hello - I am new to this site, but I do think it is great. I am patiently waiting for my CS to arrive, should be here in 2 days. Anyways, I would like to try a pastrami in my new smoker, anyone have any good recipes that they have tried that turned out great? This past weekend I did try pulled pork (noone here in ND has ever heard of that), but I did it in my gas smoker, and it turned out great. I used recipes that I had found here and WOW, it was fabulous. Used Smokin' Okies mop/baste with the cider vinegar, brown sugar - sure didn't look good, I was very impressed. Thanks. Please let me know about the pastrami recipe? (Is there one on the CS cookbook that is coming with my new smoker?)

Here's somthing I plan on trying, but have not had a chance yet.
Use Hi Mountian Jerky Cracked Pepper & Garlic jerky cure on a brisket. Cure in the fridge for a week to 10 days. Smoke at 225 to internal temp of 160-165. Link to Hi Mountian Jerky Cures I think this will work, maybe someone else will have information on whether or not this will work. |

Thanks for the compliments, yes maybe it doesn't "sound" good, but it always gets a positive response. A good baste/mop for pulled pork is a good thing.
For a Pastrami discussion.... 1. Did you do a search. 2. Did you see the post in the Open Forum? Pastrami Another public service announcement from your forum moderator ;-) |
