I am using Smokin's vinegar mop on my pork butt. Its been sitting in the 170's for a couple hours now. I rubbed last night with a combination of Mccormicks Jamaican jerk, ground coriander, cumin seed, dried onion,a little granulated brown sugar, coarse black pepper.I can't remember if there was anything else in there. It sure smelled good this morning.

Hey, I bought a jar of HOT salt yesterday.Has anyone used it? What for?

Hey Kathy, I'm a Hot Salt fan--keep a jar here at the office to 'kick up' a boring lunch. I've never used it in a rub since I like to control each ingredient (and because I like a lot of heat while the rest of my family doesn't).

I use it for anything I'd ordinarily salt, including veggies, meat, or even meat-shaped tofu items.

I see the title and it makes me wonder...I can't be sure Kathy.

In the "oven" or in the "smoker"?

Well, I was going to title it " butt in the oven" and thought better of it. If you look at the year I was born in my profile you know the other interpretation is nigh on impossible. Isn't it an oven since it has shelves, thermostat, and a door on it that you can close?
Is it really really hot-the salt? I know, I should put some on my fingertip and try it.This is a weird subject with the butts conversation. Hey,Smokin' you wanted a new topic...
I am going to make a mustard sauce too.
