Will pork butt cooking time be decreased if the bone is removed?

Will deboning change the taste of the butt.

I would not think it would change the taste any. As for the cooking time I don't think it would change it much, if any at all. I can't say for sure though, I have always left it in.

Thanks for the reply.

Just go my new Paul Kirk's "Championship Barbecue"
Paul states that a boned pork butt slow smokes
to tender doneness in about 1 1/2hrs per pound.
The timing for a bone-in butt is 2 hours per pound.Will have to try boneless to see if I can
cut down on the time in the CS.

"About" 1 1/2 hrs could be within 1/2 hr of.

Two hrs on a butt could be a max,with 30 mins less not unlikely.

Sounds about the same to me?
