Started my first butt yesterday evening at 8:00 and pulled it out of the ST when it hit 195 degrees at 4:45 today......I let it "rest" for 30 minutes then pulled it........thanks to the help from the forum here, my first try was a GREAT success!!!

I have been paying $8/lb. for pulled pork from a local vendor and thought that was a bargain.....mine was just as good or better for a fraction of the price.......I have about $16 in this one...fed my family of 4....and....I have over 4 lbs. vacuum sealed and ready for the freezer!!!

Thanks again for all the advice and experience shared on the forum!!

Gon, congrats. Looks great. Have done my first 3 butts over the last 2 weekends, very satisfied with the results. Used to live in Eastern NC, so my taste buds are well calibrated, and the Cookshack does a great job on butts.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Hey GonHuntin!!! that looks like my butt!!! GREAT!!!

It's getting to a point I don't like eating out anymore because I can make my food much better and I know exactly what goes in it.

What was that old TV show?? "No Brag...Just Fact"

good job!!! Now get yourself a 12lb packer cut brisket....you'll never have anything better!!!!

Gon Huntin' congrats.

One of the main motivators for me doing this forum is exactly that, teaching others to cook great Q in their house for themselves. Makes it all worth it.

Me too, let's get more Q photos this year!!!!

If ANYONE has problems and doesn't know how, let me know and I can start a post so we can talk about how to do this stuff, might have to go with Digital Photo 101.

Smokin, I for one need to find out how. Last search I did came up with a post that says e-mail the pics to you. If there is a way to do ourselves, I'd like to know, along with file size limits (if any).

Thanks!

Problem is this. When you post on other servers and they go away, then the posts are filled with all those broken icons of "missing pictures". When I go through the archives, I see lots of those. Maybe it's a hassle to just email them to me, but I don't doing the work: resizing, FTP'ing to our server and emailing URLs. That way, 5 years later the photo is still there.

I'll give it some thought and let you know about the alternatives. We can always use more photos.

Smokin, that's all good with me. Not trying to change the procedure, especially is it's working well for all. I may have misunderstood that others were self-posting pics. Again, not a big deal for me. Thanks ...

Nah, I'm just trying to get more photos, regardless of how they get there.
