We will be competing for our first time, soon. We need a "team" name. We have a few that we would like some feedback on. Any and all input is appreciated.

How about "Ballistic BBQ" with the slogan, "Eat our Q or run for cover".

Go with Squealin' 'N Dealin'.

Logo and signs could be done by making the N bigger and having someone design a pig dressed like a wheeler dealer (top hat, cane and spats : or green eye shade and sleeve garters perhaps) lounging on top of it. Might make a good team mascot too.

And good luck in the cookin'.

Try something from the Smokies as long as you're blessed with living there. Bluegrass. Smoky Mt Smoke. Cobbly Nob BBQ. Baldy Mt BBQ...

Stuff like that.

I agree with i2BBQ. The nasties get old quick. I sure wouldn't want my kid braggin' that his pop cooked on the "Lick Our Butts" BBQ team. Something less offensive is more appealing, IMO.

Agreed. Go with the adjective over the verb. Describe your excellence, don't dictate it. I think it will go further. Just my opinion....good luck!

I would recommend "Up In Smoke". Unfortunately, since it is the name of a Cheech and Chong movie it will be copyrighted. Additionally, that wasn't alder or hickory they used, but probably was a rather lucrative cash crop. It would be worth checking into, however.

Okay, here's the right name for the team.

Here is my input. No matter what name you pick, next week or a month from now, a better one will come along! It is one of Murphy's Laws.

Not suggesting these but, I had a friend that was going to name his restaurant Seymore Butts . Bertha Butts was the wife. He opted for a more neutral name! : ) I think he was wise.

a word of advice tho
you have seen a pic of our 2 red racing greyhounds logo.
well this started at the winter haven contest this year and continued at the okeechobee contest.
seems some team thought our logo looked like two dogs having intercourse and made a stink. still dont know for sure the team name but i got a damned fair idea!!!!
woodhouse grill calls us two greyhounds humping but when i explained how bad peg was hurt they said man we didnt know and we were just kidding but they wouldnt confirm the team i thought was behind it.
so as a word of advice get a thick skin but myself i would stay away from anything to do with licking lol

We did a vote at our place and a coin toss decided on Q 'R' Us.
We did not mind the dirty names, so much but did consider the reprecutions. If you was raised in my family that "my Daddy won" thing might not be so offensive--lol

YOu are right! We actually submitted the entry with Zeb's for the name. We also considered~~"YOu'll dig our pig!" * that is our motto on the menus and cards. It just seems like a team name is~~ the way it is---usually differs from business name.
I think we will just be happy as being Zeb's. Thanks, Jack!
Southern Culture non the Skids was my favorite! They are a band out of the NC area---permission Probably needed thing.
