I received my Cookshack-055 the second week in February of this year. Thanks to all the contributors of the Forum I had a very steep learning curve. I have now smoked 3 briskets, 4 pork loins, and 3 tri-tips, about a dozen chicken breasts, 3 eye-of-round and 6 racks of baby-backs. All were delicious, juicy, and extremely tender. So thanks to you all.

I wanted to make my small contribution to those who have trouble removing creosote from their temperature probes, grills and etc. Ace Hardware sells a product called Fireview. (its in a black spray bottle) It is intended to clean fireplaces and wood-stoves. To remove the creosote merely spray the fireview on the creosote and rinse or wipe clean. No, repeat, no rubbing is necessary. The creosote just runs off.

I hope this is help. Thanks again for the Forums help to me.

Hi Rich,

I don't know if it would be safe or "tasteful". It contains ammonia and amines. I'm afraid it would give a bad flavor to the smoked meats. Also I wouldn't want it remove the "seasoning" from my smoker. I only use it on my removable grills and etc. I have used it on the edge of my smoker door with no ill effects.
