""Showdown" premieres in August, runs for eight weeks and culminates with a final barbecue brawl on New York City's Madison Avenue"

Hmmm. Madison Ave? Never heard of this brawl. Is it a tradition, or special for the Lilly event?

Cool

It sounds like "Iron Chefs of BBQ". It should be a great thing. I think it will be good for people to see what goes on. I wish they had a show about all the scary stuff that goes on in a kitchen. I think a lot of people think it's so easy to do. They don't see the actual hard work and the problems that can happen.
Maybe "Nightmares of a Kitchen".

Can't wait until they come to sweet NC! I am going to give it a shot if I can find out when they are coming and where, if my busy work schedule allows for it.
Can't wait!

OK!
I must have not read it very well. It looks like a "by invite only" thing. Dang, I was hoping they would be at the state championships and check out the winners. That's what happens when you wake at 3 in the morning for work and try to read something REAL fast before you go to work. Red Face
Figures!

I am not intimidated by the "Iron Chef" idea, format, concept, etc... Am not afraid to be shown up, either! Also, ain't scared to surprize a few folks! I feel quite adequate at what I do Wink .
I take it that no one else here was invited either Big Grin

In the KCBS bullsheet, they had an ad asking for people to volunteer I think. Go for it, Zeb!

Thanks Peggy!!
I'm on it! Am examining the "entry" form as I type. I hope to have a video tape, the "entry" form and anything else they require, in the mail on the 21st or 22nd. JIT.(just in time)
Thanks again, Peggy!
It was nice talking to you guys this weekend. I will have you a care-package in the mail in the next week or so.
I may not have what it takes or what they are looking for in a TV personality, but I ain't skeered to try. Like I said, I ain't afraid to be shown up or taught a lesson. I feel adequate at what I do and I MIGHT surprize some people.
I hope others here step up and give it a shot.
Work will be my only henderence. But, I will work around that, if it comes to it.

Welp.... Here goes nothing!
Thanks again,
Zeb

Talked to a couple of friends this past weekend and they've already been interviewed by the Production Crew, so it looks like there will definitely be some well known pros and some of us regular folks.

More info to come....
