Made the leap and bought the smokette 009. As it's been said a thousand times in here"MAN I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL BROWN SHOWS UP AT MY FRONT DOOR" Now I understand the true meaning behind that statement. Will go with the pork butt for the first smoke. The one rule I PROBALLY will not have any trouble with is the one I grew up with. "Keep that door shut. We can't afford to heat the outdoors" Good Ole Mom Smiler . Will post my results of my first smoke.

Great to hear that you took the plunge. I've had my 009 for a few months and I do not regret it for one minute. I had to set up shipment to Germany but it was worth the wait. I recently smoked some ribs and a co-worker was drooling over them. I gave him 1/2 my lunch as a "taste test" and he loved them. He said they were the best he ever had. He plans on purchasing a smoker at his wife's insistance when he returns to the states next year. I told him to get that in writing. Be careful on who you feed because it will be your fulltime job once people taste your cooking. Make sure you read the lessons learned (foil, easy on the wood) and you will be the BBQ King of your neighhood.

Max - put some chicken in there for a couple of hours. It's the best!
