I wanted a Hobart, but couldn't (afford) justify the price on what little use I had planned.

So, I went to Lowes and bought an El-Cheapo slicer for $100 bucks. It works fine for slicing flank steak for jerky and smoked roast beef for sandwiches....It's a pain to clean, but I suspect all slicers are that way??
