I'm building a new outdoor kitchen, and I want to incorporate the cookshack. I can't seem to find any designs or pictures of such a thing. If you have any pics or links, I would appreciate it.

Thanks Hayman, I found two pics. Hopefully someone will point me to some more.

Of the two I found, it looks like they positioned it like an undercounter refrigerator. I guess me next question will be how much space is needed betweent the top of the smoker and the counter top, or even if this is recommended. I will search the forum for that, but if anyone cares to chime in I would appreciate that also.

Did you check out this thread, not sure if some of them might give ideas?

It's near the top of the Open forum.

I did a search on "outdoor kitchen" and got 38 hits:

Search: "outdoor kitchen"

Key you'll have to think about is airflow and exhaust.

If God did not intend for us to eat animals, why did He make them out of meat?

I have thought that if I ever get around to building an outdoor kitchen I would put the smoker up higher than floor level, so it would be easier to reach into. The other thing that I have in the design-in-my-head is to build in an enclosure around the smoker, with 12 - 18" above the smoker, with a grill-like shelf or two in that area. This would look like a built in cabinet which would be higher than the countertop, obviously, and the smoker would simply sit inside. I would smoke cheese and jerky on those upper shelves while I have other things in the smoker below.
