Rib hooks

I have a 008 set up for 3 racks. I place the side rails in the highest hole, thus the rack will be as high as it can go in the smoker. Place the large end of the hook about 2 ribs down in the meat so the top of the hook can be placed on the rack and the bottom of the ribs clear the smoker box. I have put abou 4 or 5 bb ribs in my 008 cut in half. This is now the only way I will do bb ribs now.

Read on the cookshack.com that the rib hooks will not work with the 008-009.

Would like to know what the reasoning for this is?

They will, you just have to cut the slab's in half. Like Dave said hook them 2-3 bones down and your good to go ..
