Proud soon to be SM150 owner.
My order placed this morning I'm so anxious.
It all started 10 years ago with a drum smoker.
In 2003 I bought a Smokette, then I bought an Amerique this May.
And now I'm getting a SM150 wow : )
Cookshack and this forum are awesome thank you everyone for all of your help.

I also have a smokette and a 150. You wont be sorry for either purchase. I use the 150 at least once or twice a week. Sometimes after deer season here its going all day long doing Venison Jerky. One day we did almost a whole whitetail deer turned into jerky. I think we did 3 different loads.
Ive also loaded my 150 with brisket flats, done several porkbutts. Ive done at least 5 different batches of smoked salmon.
Congrats on your purchase. You wont be dissapointed trust me. When you need a recipe or advice, just use the search area.

Bem... old friend,

When you decide to sell off your excess equipment, here's what I want you to do. Buy an FE, use it for a day or two and then pass it along to me at a terrific price cuz it will then be used. Big Grin Even so, you'll still have 3 or four smokers to chose from and I'll only have two. Frowner

Enjoy your new toy, Brian.

Hi Prisonchef,

That's great info thank you.

I downloaded the manual and have read it many times.
One of the things that I really wonder about is how much wood to use.
I know smoke is subjective some like more then others.
My Amerique fully loaded with Briskets or Butts I use a total of six ounces of wood.
SM150 full loaded with Briskets or Butts how much wood to get a good smoky taste?

Thank you,
Brian E.
