Just got the SM050 and I noticed the top stainless gets pretty warm. I never noticed that on the SM008 but it very well could have.

When I received the unit the middle screw (there are 3 screws on top to hold the stainless secure on the top) was through the hole and steel appeared to be bowed. I backed the screw out and then tightened and it seemed to hold the steel down in the middle.

I am not sure of the construction so I am not sure the stainless is for any type of insulating seal?

Your thoughts please.

Hey Scott -- I would give Customer Service a call and get their advice and recomendation. Always best to go to the top dog especially since you are still uder warranty (I believe). 1-800-423-0698

I will call them, I wanted to see if anyone else experienced the same situation.

I do like the shirts and I certainly appreciate all you and Barbara have done to provide a quality product at an affordable price. If anyone needs shirts they need to see you folks!

Scott....I've got the 050 and the top stainless definitely gets somewhat hot during the smoke. Not overly so on my unit so I've never been concerned. Hope there's not a problem with yours, and good luck with the research...Ibspy
