When I got my FEC100 I got a gallon of Spicy BBQ Sauce and my family loves this stuff.

I also got a shaker of Spicy BBQ Sauce Mix, which I assume makes the same sauce.

My questions is once the sauce is open, does it need to be refrigerated.

If I make it from the Mix, how long will it last and will that need to be refrigerated.

I refrigerate all my sauces after they are open.

I don't refrigerate and have noticed no problems but YMMV. Most tomato based products have enough acid in them that they won't spoil.

But be your own judge.

I'm with Cal. Store any open sauces in the fridge...you'll get much better flavor retention.

Because of the high acidity level, I believe most BBQ Sauces are fine on the shelf.

If you're really worried, just put it in the fridge. But I leave open gallons in my spice cabinet all the times. For years now and I'm still breathing.
