I just got off the phone with Dave at Cookshack who said it might be good to also support the hopper and the firepot plenum box with Styrofoam or similar to keep those parts from bouncing / shifting out of alignment with the main FEC body as it and the truck bounces down the road. And yes, strapping the FEC down was recommended too.
Transporting laying never has been a problem for mine either. Just remember the drip pan and unload the pellet hopper, if for no other reason to lighten what you are lifting. By the way, if you cook a lot mounted in a trailer and don't empty the drip pan it will remind you automatically. When you get to where you are going you will get a message......don't ask me how I know that either.. Confused
