I bought my CS55 only 6 months ago and have been drooling over the FEC100 ever since. I took advantage of the 10% discount Cookshack has going and placed my order for the FEC100 today!

As you can imagine I'm quite excited and can't wait for it to be delivered. Big Grin The folks at Cookshack said it will take 7-10 days for it to be built and will deliver 2 days later. The bad thing is I'll be in Canada fishing when it is scheduled to be delivered so I won't be home when it arrives. I'll keep you posted.

Hey Don, You could have them deliver it to my house and I'll watch it for ya. Congrats - I've had a 008 for about six weeks and I'm already saving for FEC100.

Don,
I'm sure you'd give it a nice home but I'm gonna have to turn you down on your offer. Frowner

I see you're from Maiden Rock, I've got a brother living in Plum City. He's getting ready to order the 008. He and I are planning on competing next year with my FEC100.

If God did not intend for us to eat animals, why did He make them out of meat?

How about some photos? It's always exciting to get a big, new toy!

You're going to love the FEC, Don. I've been using mine every other day since it arrived. It's going to get the big test at the Westmont, IL competition this weekend.

Haven't really identified any comps yet, but with the cost of fuel these days I'm sure we'll stick to the midwest area. I plan on educating myself over the next year by reading the forums, attending a judging class and the Fast Eddy class held at Cookshack later on this year. I also plan on visiting some of the comps in Iowa. Hopefully by next year I'll have the guts to give a comp a try.

I feel your pain. I just ordered another FEC100 last week and will be waiting with you. It will be worth the wait. You will love it.

I'll be in Kansas City this weekend for my son's baseball tourney so I've made arrangements to meet with Fast Eddy to get some pellets. Meeting with FE will certainly be an honor! Second best to actually having my smoker is meeting the man that designed it. Smiler

UPS Freight arrived with my FEC100 last night around 9:00 PM so I waited until this afternoon to unpack it. As you can imagine I'm pretty excited to get Q'ing. Smiler I'm seasoning the smoker right now and plan on smoking some butts and ribs this weekend.

With the CS55 I run my Maverick temp probes through the smoke hole on top. With the FEC can I run the temp wires through the open door and allow the gasket to seal around them or should I run them through the 5" exhaust port? Thanks

I just let the gasket seal around them. My leads aren't long enough to go through the exhaust.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.
