I have a friend who asked me to smoke some cod for him. Tried a search and came up references to Cape Cod and a few mentioning Cod cheeks, but no distinct recipes.

Anyone got one up their sleeve?

Thanks.

My favorite sauce for almost any kind of fish (to eat for dinner) is:

1/2 stick of butter
Ample onion diced
Lemon juice
Lime juice

Saute the onion in the butter and when you are ready to start cooking, add in lemon and lime juice to make enough to cover.

Place the fish in a baking dish (I use a 9 x 13 pyrex) and pour the sauce over the fish. Smoke for about an hour or 1:15 at 225.

Make nice salmon, whitefish, or other.

We do salmon that way all the time. My wife, who normally doesn't like salmon that well, just loves it done in the smoker with the butter/onion sauce mentioned above.

Give it a try... the cod should come out with a slightly smoky flavor (not overly smoked) and be tender, moist and flakey.
