I know this comes up a lot but I wanted to just post this. It looks like Williams and Sonoma has come out with a new remote thermometer.

http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/sku8717076/inde...tlttsi&cm%5Fsrc=None

The one I have has worked great despite the abuse I dish out. Recently it got soaked in a drenching rain and quit working. I took the batteries out and put it on the mantle above the wood burning stove and let it dry for a couple of days...... works fine.

This new design looks interesting.

Yes.. target temps can be programmed two ways... one with preset Beef, chicken, pork, etc.....the other is to just dial in the exact temp for example 118.... it can also alarm for time.... I wouldn't know how to function without it....

Seems kinda pricey! I just bought a new Accu-Rite for $9.99 + tax. If it quits anytime soon I will take it back to wally world and get a new one!

I've been toying with getting a wireless remote t-meter like that along with one of those car starters.

In my old apt. I could just look out the window and read my Taylor or CDN probe t-meters.

But since I've moved into a 2nd story apt. I hate running up and down the stairs just to check the temp or going out twice in the morning to start my car then leave for work.

Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my butt to keep!

Yea, I just look out the kitchen window and onto the back patio. That little riser area on the side of the smoker at top right is a great place for the magnet to stick.

Cool
