I am thinking of buying the Amerique. The question I have is will that unit be too big. There's just me and my wife but sometimes we entertain for 10-12 people. When I'm not entertaining can I smoke/cook for just two people in that unit or will that be impractical?

Nah...as long as you can afford it, the AmeriQue is not too big for your anticipated use. You will love the extra features and conveniences. I also believe the 008 or 009 is plenty big enough for you, however. Hope that helps.

Cool

GLH is correct. Buy what you can afford, but... the 008/009 will easily cook enough to 10-12. Its small looks are very deceiving!

Whatever floats your boat, with a CookShack smoker you will NOT be disappointed! Big Grin

If you can afford it I say go with the AQ.

The larger racks and higher temp capability are very nice to have indeed.

Oh.....and you can always cook less food, it just gets pretty tough trying to stretch the smoker. Wink

I'd say a quick read through this "which CS" forum who probably bring up more people saying "why didn't I buy the bigger one" than ones who say "it's too big"

You'll probably find you do more with the bigger one.

I always suggest trying to size the smoker. What will you be doing? Which cuts, how much, etc. Then double it because your friends will want some too.
