Agree with MaxQue on Southern Soul and Gary Lees, which is also a great butcher shop.

Another on St Simons is Beachcomber BBQ . Good BBQ in a nice laid back place serving mainly locals.

In Brunswick, you need to check out the Georgia Pig. Just off I-95 on the road to Jekyll. Definitely brings new meaning to word "Shack". The servers are usually a couple surly older ladies that you don't want to engage in any conversation. The food can be hit or miss in some cases. Avoid the Brunswick stew at all costs. The pulled (chopped) pork is pretty good though they sometimes overkill with the sauce. If you ask, they might serve the sauce on the side if they're in a good mood.

If your accommodations allow for cooking you really want to go to City Market in Brunswick. They're a seafood wholesaler, though they do retail at their facility, and they specialize primarily in shrimp. A couple years ago I bough 3 pounds of jumbo shrimp fresh off the boat at ~ $6/lb.
