Pls Help - 009 Stainless with GFCI popping

I have a 009 stainless steel smoker that I have has for 8 years. I keep it outside but well covered. It just starting tripping the GFCI when I turn it on. Yes, I tried other outlets in the house and the same thing happened. I turn it on and a few second later, it trips the GFCI. Any ideas on how to repair would be greatly appreciated.
