Probe or board failure, how to determine culprit?

Went to smoke a few butts tonight and my probe does not register in my Amerique. I replaced the control board a few smokes ago due to a faded display and everything worked fine. Now the probe displays a few different temps as you plug it in at different depths of insertion but when seated it does not register.

Of course nothing happens during business hours and I need to get with tech support on Monday but does anyone here have a suggestion. Is there a way of checking the probe with a multimeter? What are the odds of probe:board failure?
