Smoking in Australia

I have just started using a cookshack 50 in Adelaide Australia. I am wondering if there is anyone else cooking bbq in Australia. I am having difficulty with supply of smoking chips. I have found weber brand chips in hickory, these are expensive. It would be difficult to import woodhips into Australia as customs will not allow wood with bark. Has anyone in Australia found a local supplier of suitable smoking wood?
I have found the cost of ribs to be much higher than expected. In the US the spare ribs were about $2 per pound at Costco. Here they are at least double the price despite not being particularly popular. Has anyone found a supplier of ribs at a more reasonable price in Aust?
