Reply to "Smoking in Australia"

not my idea.
the first settlers had to smoke/preserve with something!
blackbutt was used at the dorrigo ham and bacon factory for half a century till it closed down. australias trout industry (far south eastern oz) uses mostly mountain ash.

is a vapor bad? use too much of any wood and it will be too strong.

you will find that even with the sudden availability of imported wood, that vast majority of smoking here in oz , commercially and amatuers, is done with native hardwoods. i will go so far as to say , that the more sophisticated the australian smoking industry becomes the less we'll use imported timber and we'll embrace our unique , defininig, native timbers.

oh, there is a peppermint gum (eucalypt). has all sorts of possibilities eh?
