Ok. I have the AmeriQue and it works well. Due to the covered patio configuration, the electrical outlet is next to the patio door. Until I run a new circuit to the opposite side, I need to use an extension cord. I have to get the smoker well away from the door for a lot of reasons, chief among them is the smoke infiltrating the house when the door is opened of the dog uses the pet door. Can I get by with a 15 foot cord, 14 Ga/15 amp, rated at 1800 watts without degrading the smokers performance? Would 12 Ga be better? What is the longest extension anyone has run with success? Thanks in advance. Dave

You'll be fine. No worries... Most users probably use whatever cheapo outdoor extension cord the have at the house. It will run fine on a 16 gauge cord. As far as tripping a circuit breaker, I've ran all kinds of stuff on the same circuit and never had any issues. I've ran on a 100 foot 16guage with no issues.

(DISCLAIMER - I always have a remote thermometer with an alarm hooked to the smoker esp when sleeping etc so I know if it goes off/gets too hot etc. even though I've never had an issue - MaVerick ET-72 or ET-732)
