Greetings, New AQ on the way. To save time what do you do to season the unit? Can I smoke in it right away? Do you Guys/gals clean the interior after each smoke? If so how, and do you line the botom w/foil? Any info you pass on will be greatly appreciated. By the way the AQ is replacing a broken down Bradley. Prior to that I was a straight wood burner. Thanks Curt

Fishslayer,

First thing is to toss a couple chunk's of wood in the box set the temp to 225 and let'er rip for 4-5 hrs. After that I'd put the biggest butt you can find and smoke it . I would'nt clean after each smoke, just when it get's bad . Lining the the bottom is easy just put some foil down and don't forget to POKE a hole in for the drain. Also foil the top of the wood box just don't cover the side hole's. Go easy with the amount of wood you use the first time, doesn't take much and you can alway's work your way up .

Hope this help's
Mark
I agree, smoke it up good, then do a big fatty butt with some wood. Do not completely clean the smoker out after each smoke, you will be cleaning out the seasoning. Wipe it out well with clean paper towels and put the racks and grills in the dishwasher. You will need to foil the bottom of the smoker and poke a drain hole and also foil the top of the woodbox. Once a year or so clean it out really well, but do not scrape off the smoke seasoning. Think cast iron skillets and griddles.

Cool
