Stop me if you've heard this one:
There was this old chef who was hoping and praying for a visit from the restaraunt reviewer. He knew that his food was the finest, If only the world could know this, people would come to his tiny inn and save him from financial ruin.
On a cold and dreadfull night he watches the last of his customers leave , and he knows this is it....there will be no more visitors. He looks at the dish he has prepared for the reviewer who never showed up. He dicides that he will let his cat have the dish ...... as all good chefs do, he personalizes the dish with a little finely minced fresh catnip to the sauce. He is called out of the inn to go and help a friend down the street.
While he is out , a traveler comes in out of the cold, rainy weather and asks the chef's wife if there is any food left at all.....even a bowl of soup would do. She goes into the kitchen and finds one dish left and quickly brings it to the traveler. As luck would have it he is the reviewer who got lost in the bad weather....he taste the dish and goes crazy!!! He has had this dish prepared many times for him by many chefs but something is diffrent in this one....maybe an exotic herb?......Gourmets quickly come to the inn for a chance at trying the famous dish and the inn is saved.....
Well, that is what BBQ is to me....I dont think people are trying to make the best que in the world, hands down.....I think its about personalizing it...making it your que and not someone elses...I'm glad its that way too....some nights I want Memphis style....and others maybe Texas style....hey, its all good to me ......Happy 4th everyone.

So, now we're doing Q for Cats?

Good story, good laugh. But you didn't talk about whether the catnip affect the smoke ring and when the owner wrapped the dish in foil, did that help or hurt it. And what was the temp of the dish as it set out and had the cat tried any of it and did that affect the final product and the chef DID keep good notes so he could sell it again......

Reminds me of the old days, you'd start a story, someone else would add..
