Any one know the exact model number of the black powder coated unit at Cabelas? It doesn't really say how many shelves are in it or the size of the shelves. $524 is the price.
Does anybody have any info?

The Cookshack that I bought for that price was the cs020. This model has been discontinued by CS. Here is a thread on it.
If you can find one at cabela's. I would buy it. I have been nothing but TOTALLY satisfied with mine.

I bought the discontinued cs 20 from cabelas a few weeks ago. I could not be happier.
The unit was (maybe still is) on sale to cabela's club members. You should check into that, the savings were substantial.
Be ready: I ordered it on a tuesday and it was delivered on friday.

Thanks guys. They told me they had 2 floor models and one in a sealed box in the warehouse. Is it capable of holding another tray or is 2 the max?

I would say two only. I, think, 11" from bottom shelf to top of inside smoker.
You can move shelves up or down on hangers.
I'm saying grab the one that hasn't been opened and you could make money on Ebay, or be another member of the CS family.
They are BIG shelves.

I found out a while ago that it only holds 2 shelves. Thanks anyway. If I buy it, it'll be put into constant use right here. I love BBQ and so do my two adult sons. I'm anxious to see how this thing churns out smokey BBQ. I just sold my Big Green Egg and now I ready to move on to something different. For me, anyway. I plan to go Saturday (my birthday) and buy it. It's about an hour and half from where I live.

I started out with an 008 (the original smokette) and used it for two years. Then I decided to switch to the 055 which is a little bigger thinking "this will be the last smoker I ever buy" and it probably will be.
My point is: that you shouldn't have any problem selling your current smoker (or give it to a relative) and get what you want.
And yes, we use the smoker a lot but don't do much with butts or briskets and only an occasional ribs. Too many calories in those. But we do fish a lot and pre-smoke steaks, bacon, and do a fair amount of jerkey. There's always something new to try.
