I haven't even received my smoker yet (due to arrive this Monday I hope), but just reading the posts here of everyone really loving the way Cookshack smokers perform, I was somewhat displeased myself with another brand similar to the Cookshack, making the list. So everyone, take a deep breath and don't feel slighted about your Cookshack not making the list... and then posting your own comment on that blog at end of the article. But if you do... I understand.

Oh well, too late!! Looks like Donna beat the Cookshack owners to the punch. Way to go Donna!!! Great comment you wrote on their blog.

Unfortunately, Cookshack's high end smokers were omitted from the top ten, even though they are the standard by which most electric smokers are judged. (In fact, the Smokin' Tex smoker is a made-in-China clone of Cookshack's popular Smokette. Cookshack smokers are made in the USA.) The company's newest home smoker, the AmeriQue, is the most sophisticated smoker of its kind, with an electronic digital time and temperature controller, and a probe which guarantees meat cooked perfectly every time. I would put a Cookshack up against any smoker in this list!

to keep things in perspective, they are listing "cool" bbq grills...not the most functional or practical. My 055 did not come with a disco ball, plasma display, wi-fi connection, gps navigation or even floor mats. Therefore it is not considered cool. Now, if you check out other bbq 'top 10' lists like THIS one, you'll see that we made the cut.

Hey, jazzspot, you may want to go pick up some extra wood chunks and a good probe thermometer (or 3) while you're waiting for your smoker. Come monday, you'll have your hands full!

Well, I've got plenty of wood and lump (I still do use my Chargriller). Plus I got a couple of bags of wood I ordered from the CharcoalStore that I placed along with my 50 smoker order. I got two therms and I may buy me another one while I'm waiting for the delivery of my gift to myself. But many thanks for keeping an eye out for me!! Much appreciated.
The only way you could take that list seriously
if it was April 1st!!!know because i own a lynx which came in 1st place,While it is a great grill i hesitate to use the word BBQ in its description. When i want BBQ the only way to go is with my Cookshack.BBQ RIBS,BBQ PORK,BBQ BRISKET!!!I wish mine was smokin right now!
I am very proud to be a Cookshack family member with the rest oif my friends here on the forum.

Great BBq for me and you!
I hope this pic comes out...

My brothers and I made this water heater for a grill many years ago when I had my cabin up in the woods of West Virginia. We came up with this a very long time ago and worked great. We were only heating water for our showers and used a 42 gallon trash can. Water was hauled up from the river. worked great year round.
