Here is a simple sauce I came up with that is very easy to make. I like the strong flavor from the worcestershire sauce. Hope you enjoy it.

1 1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoon molasses
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Combine all ingredients and simmer 10 min till sugar is dissolved.

Well. We grilled country ribs tonight after marinating them in apple juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic for 6 hrs. Since we didn't have a KC type sauce, I made up a double batch of your recipe Fitz777. My wife and daughter loved it. It was very good. Glad I made extra cause I know I'll add it to pulled pork from the smoker in the near future. Thanks for posting.
No worries Fitz, don't take it wrong.

I'm pretty hard core on Foil and Liquid Smoke, but if it works for you that's fine. I just try to point out some basic things when I see them.

I'm sure the sauce, used in a real smoker with good smoke would be fine without it.

Appreciate the post, think it's a good basic start.
Don't apologize. The sauce was very good, and it was right up the wife's and daughter's alley. I'm using that liquid smoke sauce right now in Todd's barbecue beans which I intend to smoke. It's a good sauce with or without the liquid smoke.

You can't post here without getting other opinions or input. That's what makes this work so well. Get all the input you can, then do your thing. Everyone does. Smiler
