My name is Scott and I live in Michigan. I have a brinkmen charcoal smoker and would love to lrean how to use it the right way.

I'm 52 yrs old and just getting into smoking meats. I make jerky the most but want to do things like turkeys and briskets and pork shouders

Go to the first page after you sign in and go to the sections leading to the 101's (ie Pork Butt 101, Turkey 101, Brining 101). Each of these will be great for getting you started on those items you want to cook. Then read inside each forum (Beef, Poultry, Ribs, etc) to get a lot more information. Any specific questions ask here like you just posted. We'll be glad to help.

Key thing with the brinkman is learning temperature control and how to maintain a steady temp. It's a challenge. The metal is so thin that it won't do well in lower temps.
