Here's a link to another discussion on the subject.

outlets

Many issues can be addressed by clicking on the 'Find' button at the top and searching the message boards. There's a wealth of good info on here if you search for it. The great thing about these boards is that many great people share their experiences about their smokers, making it easy for us new folks. It's a great community. Welcome aboard and enjoy many, many days of fine smoking with your new smoker!!
Thanks Cal, when I first tried using the outlet on my deck I tripped the GFCI and I was BUMMED. I ran an extension to get my Amerique to work. I subsequently found this post after thinking I was doomed to run an extension from the bedroom to the deck. After the initial seasoning, I have been able to use the outlet a couple of feet from the where the smoker sits. Thanks again for the forum.....

I know I harp on this a lot, but it's a key point.

If you have a suggestions for CS, email them or call them. I'm 100% certain they won't see a suggestion buried in a thread. They just don't monitor the forum that closely, and they really want to hear from you.

They're great about it,

Just call them direct and let them know

I got a better manual with my microwave. They should be ashamed.

I agree.

We, of the forum, should collectively write a manual and cookbook for Cookshack. Who will be the editor? Lookin' for a volunteer. Who has good editing skills?

My, soon to be retired, tech-writer wife could be talked into proof-reading and copy-editing the project gratis for mention in the book.

Whaddaya say? Anybody game for this project?

While Smokin' has preached to me for a kinder gentler forum, I have no problem HELPING CS family members and newbies that give back or will give back what they have received, but I find it rather difficult to help those that don't/won't contribute and only want to criticize the forum that has taken me, a newbie, from a griller to what some of the folks around my town call a COOK.

Here is a good start on what you want to do. Lessons for newbies

If I can do anything else to help you SmokinMAINEiac, just ask I will...I'm just pretty busy learning to smoke right now,ya know!

I'm pretty busy learning to smoke myself...can't seem to get enough..good thing my wife likes smoked products Wink

I'm not volunteering to edit, just suggesting is all.
I'm going to say this nice, and say it once again.

The forum is NOT the place to vent, I'll just delete those thread. CS POLICY is for you to contact them direct so they can hear you and work with you DIRECT.

IF you have comments about their products OR their manuals, please call or email them direct.

The do not monitor each of the 100,000+ posts looking for suggestion.

Call them direct, they'd love to talk to you.

I don't work for CS and I don't take notes for them.

Ideas (GOOD or BAD) about the manual. Call/email them.
