It appears after trying every possible LHT/HHT combination known to man and not being able to maintain temp that my pellet feeder is dropping the pellets to the opposite side of the pot from the igniter. When i move the pellets the temp rises for a bit. Then falls back off. That’s the only reason i can figure the temps continue to drop. I’m about ready to send it back to Cookshack.
My buddy that recommend Cookshack came over and ran my smoker. He recognized that there was an issue with mine. We tried several different things then we took the control board from his PG500 and put it in my PG1000 and BAM! Works as it should. I’ll be calling Cookshack tomorrow to replace the control board.
Called Cookshack and spoke with Bill. I explained the situation and he agreed to send a new control board out same day. Great customer service!
On my PG500 I have issues with the pellets partly bridging and hit a fist of the side of the hopper and hear them fall. an incompletely filled auger will cause your problems and does mine on the 500. Yes, My pellets are nice and dry and stored in the house in the AC not even in the garage. Competition blend quality pellets to start with.
