I hope you have better luck then I did? I made the mistake of buying the Traeger. The only good part about it was I got it from Costco so I was able to return it. That thing was a pellet eating machine. I use the Weber Summit s670 for my grilling and maybe real soon I'll be using the Primo XL Oval Kamado.

Unfortunately Traegers are made in China and the quality of the grills has gone way down.

If you're looking for hot/fast with the ability to smoke, check the Pellet Grill and Charbroiler forums. Lot of people like theirs.
I have 3 big green eggs and a cookshack 040 (045 but black body and no probe. I love them all and use them for different reasons. The cookshack in my go to for all low and slow smoking.

Careful about buying a big green egg from Costco as they arent an authorized dealer and BGE wont honor the warranty. Jer
BGE and Kamodo were both giving their best units,at different state championships and we were fortunate to win both.

The Kamodo was a constant problem and the head rep was constantly giving us new parts, huge supplies of lump charcoal, accessories, trying to keep us using it.

We ended up throwing it out with the trash.

On the other hand, the BGE was a dream, good quality, and performed splendidly.

Ribdog still uses it as his top grill and loves it.

Can't speak for all,but it seems like those were shared experiences around the circuit.
I've had a Primo Oval XL for several years and for a charcoal burner I personally don't think you can beat it for control, you can go from smoke to sear in a very short time and with a Stoker or Digi Q have 14+ hour low and slows. It also has more usable surface area than any of the other ceramics. With that said, since I purchased my FEPG1000 in December, I haven't fired up the XL. I do look forward to the warmer weather, grabbing a beer and spending some time with the XL again this summer.
