It thinks the probe is connected

I cooked this morning with the probe. When that was done I put something else in the smoker but wanted to do time instead of probe. I disconnected the probe and turn the amerique off, waited 30 secs and then back on. Came up showing that it was using the probe. Tried a few times but it still thinks the probe is connected.

Problem came back today. Turned on smoker and set the timer to 3:30. Probe not connected. All looked good. Came back after 3 hours to check on it and it had gone into probe mode. Since no probe was connected it was reading a very low temp for the probe so everything was still cooking OK. Turned it off and on a couple times and it just kept coming up in probe mode.
