Why,Oh,why are you reading that operational manual??? One thing that I have learned is this forum is a much better guide. Looks like your common sense has got you thinking right.

Please don't use the times in the cook book, most of us would say that they are good recipes...but the times are not right! What does Smokin' say about cooking by time?

Not talking about smoking, talking about the smoker box not touching the back of the smoker??

I think they changed the design slightly since printing the manual. As long as the box fits and the door closes securely you should have no problems.

Dang, That's a nice shiny smoker you got there Smoke-on-the-prairie. I can only remember one time that mine looked pretty like that. I did clean the rack holders a couple months ago, don't know why, they didn't look any different after my next smoke.Oh well.

It appears that the smokette wood box fits the same way as the AmeriQ box.

yes, a bit different. Where is the oven temp probe in that baby? Here are pics of the older design. The wood box has the lid hinge-attached and there is an angle at the back just above the box. The temp probe is center back.
