Made In America

I always try to buy USA made if possible. You can't help but get a few things made in China. They make everything imaginable and we have a trade agreement with them. Go figger.

2 things I use alot and know about are chainsaws and linetrimmers. The only good ones are made in Germany.

I agree Bill. And it should include grown or produced in America also. I was at the seafood market the other day and they had 21-25 count shrimp on sale. Then I noticed it was farm raised in Thailand. They also had wild local caught pink gulf shrimp. Guess which ones I bought.

Yep, best seafood in the world is the "Gulf Coast"..

Wallyworld has watermelons grown in Mexico. A little girl got stung on the hand by a scorpion while picking one up in a store.

On May 2oth I emailed the "stillmadeinusa" website the following message.

I'd like to submit the name of a company to your website. It's COOKSHACK, they make electric BBQ smokers in Ponka City, Oklahoma. My only affiliation with them is I bought one of their smokers ten years ago. Their products are 100% American made and their customer service is second to none. Take a look at their website (Cookshack.com) and browse their forum and I believe you'll agree they should be listed on your website.


I'm surprised they haven't added Cookshack to their list yet.

Being made in the USA was the first thing that attracted me to the Cookshack. I'm currently trying to find a reasonably priced grill that is Made in the U.S and its being a little more difficult.

I just emailed them with another plug for the best smoker on the market. Maybe if a few of us do that, they will list it. Can't hurt to try, doesn't cost a cent.

Magnumatving, you are absolutely right about that. Even Weber is only assembled here in the USA. I have a friend who owns a company that sells replacement grill parts. He tells me that he orders his Weber parts directly from Weber USA but they always come to him drop shipped from China. Who'd of guessed, after all of Weber's advertising.

I don't know about all Weber grills, but a Discovery Network show, How It's Made, recently visited the plant where the kettle grills are made and it was in the US. Ohio or Indiana IIRC.

Todd, my bad. I should have said gas grills. That's the parts business my friend is in. No charcoal stuff.
