I had a bad experience with my Smokette 09 when it was delivered, but CookShack took care of it and all is well that ends well.

Since I was able to cook with my Smokette, I've been very much pleased with the results. I've done Ribs, Chicken, sausage, and Pork Butt... All with superior results.

As many have already noted, the smoke ring is not what you'd expect, but on some other posts it mentions using a lump or two of charcoal with your smoking wood to nudge the smoke ring along. I'll try this.

Smoke Ring or not, the Q was really good on my new Smokette. Best of all, I didn't need to spend a few hours pre-heating the grill and clean up will be a snap since I followed the directions on these forums and foiled mine.

The smokette is cool and well worth the purchase price. You won't be sorry.

Glad to hear everything has worked out in the end.

Now you can concentrate on tweaking your method to make your food the best it can be!

One thing. The charcoal thing works best if you use crap briquettes like Kingsford. I have 2 problems with that. #1 I don't like the flavor(it's faint but I'm picky) given off by the charcoal. #2 most non lump charcoals use binders that give off such things as BENZENE when burned. I don't need to shorten my life any more than I already have. Big Grin

I say don't worry about the smoke ring. I know it makes for some pretty food, but it doesn't have a taste so I say don't bother.

Have a good one!
Glad you are enjoying it as well. I've had mine 6 weeks now and pretty much have done just about everything I can think of. This weekend it is going to be running non stop from Friday to Monday with ribs, brisket, chicken, jalapeno's stuffed, and maybe a rib roast if I am lucky.

I tried the charcoal thing with 2 lumps of kingsford on a 10# packer cut brisket. Saw a very small pink ring not enough for the hassle. What I really didn't like was that I thought it gave the brisket a different taste than other ones that I done. More of an ashy taste. I won't be doing it again and will stick with the proven methods here on this forum.
