I'll be smoking by the weekend. I can't wait. I've spent a good deal of time trying to figure out what I wanted. Finally, I called and talked to Dave at the Charcoal Store. He was a great help. I bought a Cook Shack because I want to be just like you guys! Actually, the forum here is outstanding and I think it does make sense to have the same stuff. I'm not the brightest star in the sky so using your equipment and your recipes should help alot. I also bought a Maverick thermometer (hope this maverick proves more productive than the one in the last election). Stupid questions will follow.

Congratulations. I have only had my Amerique a couple of weeks and have smoked several times. Everything comes out great.

My advice: Read the forum as it is full of great info. Don't let some of the posts on the forum scare you as some of the posts sound like it is difficult but it is really people perfecting their skills. Virtually everything will come out good.

Also, be patient. Smoking meat takes time and if you will be patient, you will like the results.
Congrats.

As soon as you get it, plug it in and start the seasoning. Well, take it out of the box of course.

Read through the threads at the very top of the open and owners forum for some great initial info.

And DON'T hesitate to ask. Lots of people hate to and just lurk, but asking your own questions gives us an opportunity to help.

Good luck!

Smokin'
