Pretty excited to be getting my new SuperSmoker. I've enjoyed reading the articles in this forum and finally decided to take the plunge. I've used the Weber Smokey Mountain before and am now trying to sell my Good One Open Range. The Open Range is a good cooker but keeping the fire going at high altitude was problematic. I'm looking forward to learning how to cook with this new smoker.

Looking forward to learning from you all!

Picture the element, attached on one end and extending horizontally with no support at the other end, bouncing around a UPS truck. The element may very well settle some. Lift it up gently till it is slightly higher than the wood box. Gently lower the element allowing the woodbox to be replaced and releasing the element so it ultimately rests firmly against the woodbox. It'll stay that way.
