Hello Cookshack Nation. I've been reading the forum for awhile after hearing about Cookshack smokers from a restaurant owner. Finally bought one (CS008) at Cabela's and brought it home today. It's "breaking in" as I write. Can't wait to try it. Anyway, thanks to all the members for the great forum. It surely influenced my buying choice.

I bought an 009 at Cabela's this week using a bunch of my Cabela's card points! I broke it in on Thursday and smoked my first batch of ribs yesterday (Saturday) and they turned out very well. I'm glad I followed the directions and read this forum first and used less than 3 ounces of wood. My prior charcoal water smoker experience certainly made me think I needed more. As I type this, I've got two small pork loins smoking. I also bought a remote digital temperature monitor to tell me when the meat is done. I really think I'm gonna like this smoker!!!! It sure is a lot easier to use than a charcoal smoker and because it is, I think I'll use it a lot more.
