Hey Gambler!

Let me see if I can help make a little sense out of all this confusion.

Lets start with your question on the FECs. They are pellet smokers that some folks use for competition or in commercial business. Here is a link! FECs

Now your question about all the problems with the residential smokers. The reason it seems there are so many problems here is that CS puts this forum location on all their boxes and operational manuals,SO if anyone has a problem and CS is not open this is where they come to look for help. Now all of us,including Smokin', are just owners that enjoy smoking, helping out fellow owners/members, and learning a little more about making good Que.

I've never seen a problem in my year around here that CS has not made right to any owner.Fact is , I would say they have the BEST customer service I've ever been around. I've meet Stuart, the president of CS and Fast Eddy, the inventor of the FECs at the American Royal and have to say they are just 1st class common folks like most of us.

If I were you, which I'm not, I would be more worried about buying the correct size smoker for what you are gonna use it for. They offer a 30 day money back, no questions asked warranty if you didn't know it?

Does this make sense? and do you have any other questions?
I have had a 09 for 9 years. I bought a 66 back in March. I’ve never had a lick of problems with either one of them. It may have looked kind of weird if I would have started a thread saying “I have a great smoker that turns out great Q without a problem. What do you think about that?”

I wasn’t ready to give up my 09, but someone made ma an offer I couldn’t refuse. The thing about always wanting to move up to the next sized smoker is like what us boat owners call twofootitus, always “needing” to move up to the next size.

Go for it!
