Discovered something this week end, some may already know this but it is something I never thought about up until it happened. I have a SM020 that I had turned off but left it plugged in. We had a power outage this weekend and when the power came back, the smoker turned on, just like when I plug it in. Luckily I noticed within a couple of hours, but it could have been a bad thing.

Long story short, UN PLUG IT! When your not using it. I am sure it says this in the manual, but for those that have forgotten or didn't read the manual, here is your reminder.

Since the smoker is on all nite during a smoke, I'm not concerned about safety, just electrical usage. Not a major concern since these smokers use such little electricity.

Unless your like me and left the door open the last time you used it. Or if someone inadvertently set something on top of it not thinking about it, or...or...or..

I just thought it would be good to bring up.
