I have a smokette and have had it for a year. I love it except for the fact my fire box rest on the bottom of the smokette (I noticed on the new model in the store it is actually above the bottom making sliding aliminum foil a breeze). It make putting foil underneath the firebox a chore - it catches on the firebox when I slide it in. Does anybody else have this problem? I called cookshack and they said bend the arms up?? What have others done?

Not difficult to bend the brackets. I did, very carefully, bend the element very slightly. Apply even pressure. No I don't have a problem with foil now. Before adjustment it was tight.
If it were me I would go ahead and attempt to adjust as the Cookshack people advised. If something does go badly I'm sure they will correct the situation as it was them who advised you to bend things in the first place.
