Your question on amount of smoke the FE imparts to meat. I use hickory from Fast Eddie. There isn't a problem with to much smoke, but if you want to up the smoke, put meat in the cooker as cold as you can and run the unit on smoke for a couple of hours. Then turn the heat up to desired temp to finish. I do this with pork and brisket and not ribs or chicken.
As far as blending pellets, I've never tried it.
