I've got a Polder dual sensor and I'm wondering about the best way to protect the wire. I'm hesitant to just close the lid on it, both due to the potential for damage to the wire and the fact that this will leave the lid slightly ajar allowing the smoke to escape. I'm wondering if I should cut a slot in the lid to accept the wire. Has anyone else done this or am I worrying about nothing?

uh, yup it does.

Got to be specific on the CS site if you're talking something else. Will get some silly replies if you don't.

you're still worrying about nothing. Unless you SLAM the lid on the cable, you should be fine. Just be careful. The SnP is notorious for leaking smoke so a little more won't hurt. You can cut a slow, but where? Depends on where the meat is placed inside and how long the wire. Just don't slam it and you'll be fine.

Do specify you have an offset, as it will make a difference in some replies. Offsets aren't as efficient as the CSs so they'll have issues with drying out CSs don't.

OK, thanks.

And yes, I do notice a lot of smoke coming out from around the lid (which is why I wanted to see if I should do something with the wire)

Would you suggest getting something to seal the lid? Maybe silicone rubber, or something more heat resistant (I'm open to suggestions)? Something soft would certainly help preserve the wire, wouldn't it ...
