Sorry to hear that, but you're right, they want to take care of you.

Pop into the FE forums when you new one arrives.

Plug it in. Turn on the master switch. Let it power up for 30 sec or so, then see the time and the temp.

Oh, don't forget to load the pellets. Actually had a new owner explain he wasn't getting any fire. When asked what kind of pellets he was using he said "what are pellets?" Really.
it'll be here tommorow. I'm taking my AQ to FEDEX Freight warehouse and do the exchange there, as I don't have banding material at my house for the box. After I season it, I want to do some ribs. Wonder if they'll taste different that the AQ. Then I need to do 15lbs of jerky. Also have 20lbs of bacon curing right now i'll need to smoke really good. I'll keep the temp low as it smokes more at low temps. Also planning on doing a roast beef and turkey breast for slicing and taking on vacation for sandwiches. Wanted to take the smoker, but it won't fit in the mini van. Smiler
Let us all know what you think after a few smokes. As far as the ribs SmokinOkie has some pretty good times and temps to start with. Just use the find button and it will be there. For me I do BB (6 to 9 racks at a time) at 274 (no 275 on a FEC100)for about 4 hours, starting with a cold smoker. Just a thought, but after you season it, I'd do a pork butt first. Seems like all the members on here feel the first smoke has to be a PB to make the "smoke gods" happy. Have fun, enjoy the smoking journey
